Social Media is Non-Negotiable

Social media is a non-negotiable for any business today. It's where customers and clients go to connect with brands and find out what’s going on in the world of your product or service that you offer them - it also offers an opportunity to interact directly if needed! And it’s free: why not take advantage?

Social media is a great tool to personalize and humanize your brand for your audience.

You Must Build a Foundation

You need to have a few foundation pieces in place and be really clear with whatever your personal or your brand values are because that's what you're passionate about, and that passion is going to come through when you're connecting with your audience; it's going to come through in your writing, and it'll come through in the visual aspect of the content you're sharing. You really want to focus on understanding your why or your purpose in showing up online.

Content Buckets

You should have three to five content buckets or pillars. Educational content, community, and connection, as well as some promotional but also keep in mind that your promotional content should really only make up 20 to 30%. You don’t want to hit people over the head with “buy me, buy me.”

It’s all about connecting with people and providing value.
